How does this involve STEM?

About Me:

For my Stem Project I want to make a card game that is played between two players that requires strategy and different uses of mechanics in the game to win. My goal is to have set rules and different ways for the players to use this to there advantage to play this game. Through out the year I'll be going through the development process of coming up with some set rules, then start actually creating cards and the different mechanics to them, and then the finishing up stages of getting all these cards physically and having two people actually able to play the game.

Mathematics are a key part of making a card game. The probablity of drawing some cards should be higher or lower than other cards depending on strength and equivalent progression. Nobody should instantly have an unfair advantage. If that was the case that would be a random game of gambling and I don't want that, I want an element of strategy and thought to be put in while playing.

Proper Mechanics will also be needed when making these cards because I want each card to have a certain purpose and have another card able to cancel it out. I want everything to have checks and balances. If there is a card that damages I would also like a card too heal. I want the game to keep getting fun while also staying fair and versatile at the same time.

I've always loved the idea of making games and having people play them and have fun.
